Become an African nature and wildlife expert. Our online wildlife courses offer interactive, expert-led training in the theoretical foundations needed to become a CATHSSETA Nature Site Guide (NQF2). If you have a keen interest in nature and a curiosity for the field guiding industry, joining an online wildlife course is the perfect fit. Led by conservation experts and wildlife professionals, each course offers a wide variety of training and insight into the industry. We offer two unique online wildlife courses: Nature Enthusiast (8 weeks) and Introduction to Field Guiding (4 weeks). Combined, these courses become the Bushwise Field Guiding online course, a 12-week course that provides all the education you need to pass your CATHSSETA NQF2 theory exam. Bushwise is accredited by CATHSSETA and our courses are designed to turn you into the best guide you can be! On average each online wildlife course includes 10 hours of lectures per week, with additional time spent studying. To start your field guide career journey, all you need is a strong WiFi connection and passion for wildlife.

A complete 12-week wildlife, nature and field guiding theory course, which allows you to write the Bushwise theory exams. This is the first step in your wildlife career! Accelerate your knowledge of field guiding techniques, wildlife and ecology.
Introduction to Field Guiding online course
The field guiding course is purely focused on preparing you for your role as a field guide. This includes how to conduct a drive or walking safari, guiding skills and procedures, and most importantly, how to be an ethical field guide. Prerequisite: Bushwise Nature Guiding Online course.
Bushwise Nature Enthusiast online course
Learn about nature, wildlife and ecosystems on this engaging online course. For 8 weeks, attend live lectures and take part in an interactive learning experience that features expert instructors and lots of opportunities for participant engagement and practical application.
