Options to fund your Bushwise course
We understand that investing in your education is a big decision, which is why we offer several ways to make your Bushwise training more accessible, including grants, wildlife scholarships, student loans, and flexible payment plans.
For South African citizens, Bushwise is recognised by most major banks as an educational institution, meaning students can often apply for student loans to fund their training. We’ve partnered with two organisations below to help speed up the process. Once you’ve enrolled in a course, we’ll provide a registration letter and full quotation to support your application with your bank or preferred loan provider.

Applications for Bushwise Foundation Grants and wildlife scholarships are also open to everyone. You can apply for a Bushwise Foundation Grant or a Wildlife Scholarship when enrolling in any in-person course to see if you qualify.

Alongside traditional bank loans, grants, and scholarships, we also offer flexible payment plans to help spread the cost of your course. Our enrolment team is available to guide you through the process.
Grants and Scholarships
To support more students on their wildlife career journey, we offer Bushwise Foundation Grants and Bushwise Wildlife Scholarships to help you access training and turn your dreams into reality.
These grants & scholarships could cover up to R100,00 of your course fees, and are open to anyone to apply. Whether you’re just starting or looking to build on your experience, we encourage you to apply to determine what grant or scholarship amount you qualify for.
Grants vs scholarships: What’s the difference?
Both grants and scholarships will help to reduce your Bushwise course fees – and neither needs to be repaid.
-
Bushwise Foundation Grants: Based on your financial need, these grants are designed to help remove cost as a barrier if the course would otherwise be out of reach for you.

-
Bushwise Wildlife Scholarships: Based on your motivation, potential, and suitability for a future in the field, scholarships are awarded if you show real promise for a career in conservation.
Anyone can apply for either option when applying for one of our wildlife courses – no academic records required.
Student loans
Student loans remain one of the most common ways for students to fund their training. In addition to applying directly through banks, there are also specialised education finance platforms that can help simplify the process and speed up your application.

Below are two options that can help you check your eligibility and apply for student funding quickly and easily.

Nedbank Education Loans
Nedbank Education Loans give you a flexible way to fund your wildlife career training. With competitive interest rates, repayment terms that work around your budget, and funds paid directly to Bushwise, the process is kept simple.
You can check your eligibility in minutes and apply online, making it quick and easy to explore your funding options.
Student Hero finance facilitation service
Student Hero connects you with multiple education funding providers in one place, allowing you to check your eligibility, compare loan options, and apply through a single platform. This gives you a faster and more streamlined alternative to approaching banks individually.

Once you’ve uploaded all the required documents, you can find out within minutes whether you qualify for a student loan. Full approval typically takes between 24 hours and a week.
